Community Mosaic Murals
The Project S.N.A.P. Community Mosaic Mural Program provides K-12 students and their families with a chance to build community and speak out on topics that impact their lives personally using art with a message. Each interactive mural is an image made up of smaller pictures created by participants who have expressed their views through drawings, paintings, photographs, and word paintings.
The murals are created by the Project S.N.A.P. team including Art Director Roy Feinson who in addition to creating numerous mosaic murals for Project S.N.A.P. is a nationally recognized mosaic artist known for his 35 mosaic murals created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland and the Official 2008 50th Anniversary Grammys Mosaic Mural. Project S.N.A.P. mosaic murals have focused on a range of issues dealing with:
- Saving Nature and the Environment
- Celebrating Community
- Real Hope for Cures to Disease
Students, parents, families, and community members experience a personal connection with their community and communicate their unique perspectives as they participate. This program also inspires staff,
professionals, business leaders, and members of local, state, national, and international communities who participate in the project to be part of “the big picture”.
Murals can be created in communities both large and small with the largest being The Million Child Mosaic, the largest mosaic mural ever created in the history of the planet Earth. It will be made up of 1 million pieces of artwork from around the world and available to view through a virtually interactive platform.
