Artist's Statement

I drew this picture because it shows freedom and it also shows earth because multiple people around the world suffer from diabetes. This picture means a lot to me because my grandmother has type 2 diabetes and I see the procedures that she has to go through and it's a little sad. Diabetes has affected my life by watching the videos I've watched and seen that kids can't have a normal life because they suffer from type 1 diabetes that does not have a cure. I decided to participate because I support diabetics and I feel they should be treated the same as everyone else. And will be if we find a cure!
