Artist's Statement

I drew this because I want people to survive from diabetes. I believe that picture means to me that many people live with diabetes daily but they stay strong by eating right and checking their blood sugar as needed. Diabetes affects my life because my sister has type 1 diabetes and has to watch what she eats, check her blood sugar many times per day and give herself injections. I am participating because I want people like my sister to be free of diabetes.
